Planting Pretty Blooms
When you are deciding to start a flower garden outside of your home you have plenty of options. The goal of any flower gardener is to always have blooms showing in the garden throughout the growing seasons. Flowers can basically be broken down into two categories. You have perennials and annuals. Perennials survive through the years and seasons. Throughout the years, I have enjoyed having both kinds around my home. To maintain and always have a bloom throughout the season you will want to plant both annuals and perennials in your garden. Flowers are not just for planting outside. You can display them in a pretty vase to accent your home.
Perennials are great to have in your garden because they continue to bloom year after year. If you are planting them from seeds you may not get a bloom the first season. Most nurseries or garden centers sell them after they have already grown a season or two. These plants are more than likely to bloom. There is a large variety of spring bulbs such as:
Daffodils, Tulips, Mums, Crocus, etc. It is a good idea to plant yourself a lot of spring bulbs in the fall.
